About Sikorsky CTF
Do you dream of a successful career in cybersecurity? Do you want to try your hand at real cybersecurity challenges?
If yes, then check out the Sikorsky CTF, a 2-day online capture-the-flag competition organized by the USAID Cybersecurity for Critical Infrastructure in Ukraine Activity, the National Technical University of Ukraine Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute, and Amazon Web Services (AWS).
The competition will take place online July 1-2, 2023, and is open to all students of Ukrainian higher education institutions and high schools. Start gathering your team and prepare for Sikorsky CTF!
The goal of the Sikorsky CTF is to provide university and high school students with the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in finding and identifying vulnerabilities, a key skill in cybersecurity. Using simulated cyberattacks, participants will work through cybersecurity situations that may arise in real life.
- Participation in the CTF prepares university students for a successful career in cybersecurity, as including the experience on a resume improves the chances for employment and makes them stand out among potential employers.
- Participation in the CTF helps high school students to find their strengths in cyber and focus on their preferences in the field, where there is no one universal area, so high school students will be able to find the development vector that suits them most.
During the competition, participants will have to solve 40+ challenges in eight categories that will require technical knowledge and critical thinking:
- Reverse engineering and malware analysis
- Binary vulnerability analysis
- Digital forensics
- Web security
- Applied cryptography
- Steganography
- Mobile security
- Professional programming and coding
The three best teams among university and high school students will be awarded special prizes that give the winners the necessary powerful tools to further improve their cybersecurity skills.
AWS provided the infrastructure for the competition, which allows deploying highly loaded national-level critical infrastructure systems with minimal costs and maximum scalability.
